Planning a Ceremony

STEP ONE
Get to Know Each Other
Choosing someone to support a ceremony or gathering is a highly intimate process. Our first step is to arrange a call to get to know one another.
- See if there is a personality fit.
- Decide whether costs and schedules work for everyone.
- Think about the elements of the service.
STEP TWO
Connect and Create a Plan
Have a meeting in-person or by video to get into the details of the service.
- Narrow down service elements: opening, acknowledgments, sharing, music, closing.
- Talk about their story, the tone of the event, the timing and flow.
- Complete the Summary of the Day.

STEP THREE
Put It All Together
Summary of the Day will be completed and shared with the planning group. Tweaks and edits can be made.
- Ideally completed a full day or two in advance (save time for last minute changes).
- Services typically range from 45 to 90 minutes depending on the elements.
STEP FOUR
Service Day
Emily will arrive 30 minutes before the service start time, with scripts, water, and tissues in-hand.

After the Service
This will be the time to either transition to a reception, second stage of the service, or perhaps to home. There can be a lot of relief as well as sadness that flows after this moment.
You will receive a reflection along with copies of all the documents created together. Emily will be available and in touch as much as needed.
